JUPITER is a Microsoft Access application with a mySQL database. It is deployed with a secured application on each client machine connecting via ODBC to a mySQL database installed on a server. It is designed for concurrency of up to 30 users on a Windows or MAC server and up to 100 when deployed on UNIX. It is intended have the benefits of cheap development using the Access application and the benefits of the more powerful open source mySQL database.
